Sub Took A Crunch...Why?

Have a RF p3 10 inch 4ohm dvc sub at 400 RMS...

Was powering it w/ a Kac-x10d amp, 600w @ 2 ohms..

Wired the p3 to the amp w/ a 2 ohm load....Is that why it blew?

I have powered p1's that have a 150rms rating at 300 and they did just fine..

Anyone? lol... Im sure it makes sense thats why it blew.. But I was so sure RF's could take a extra beating and I dont want to wire it at 8ohms cause its going to get less than what it can push by far...ehh

Gain Was only half up, shouldn't have constituted the crunch....or maybe?
