sub/s for 500/1

My friend has 2 12 inch infinity reference's running off a jl 500/1 and he has decided he wants to replace the subs and not the amp. He wants to buy 2 w3's but i told him that i would rather keep the infinity's than the w3's then I recommended a type r in a ported box but i know there could be a better sub for this setup. Anybody have any suggestions?

I would get W3's anyday over infinity's haha, they will sound alot better, cept i'm not sure about running them on 250w

tell him to save his money, and get something nice ( granted JL makes nice stuff for the $$$)

10w7? that was my final recommendation to him. im sure that will be awesome just he has to pay for it, lol
