This has been buggin me forever now, and i've never found a direct answer.. But

In what would you choose? If you had to between the two.

4 of these 12" Pioneer subs 350-400 wrms? cant remember around there though. In a nice ported box.

vs

1 of these 15" HC Resonant Engineering subs, in a nice ported box. 1200wrms.

I would be feeding 1200 wrms total either way on each sub(s)

I wanna know what would sound better (sq)

what would have better SPL

And all out what would be better.

ide go w/ the HC. Probaly less box space, your getting a better sounding sub. If you got 4 pioneers and made a nice box for them, then one blows, that would really ****. I think I would like the sound of 1 good 15" over 4 alright 12"s anyday.

i agree with going with the HC...but id rather a pioneer blow then the HC. it's alot cheaper to replace the pioneer.

The Pioneers you show above are only capable of handling 300 wrms(12"). The VCCS Pros are the ones that can handle 350-400 wrms. Anyway, I would put my money on the HC in this instance all around.

wow, looks like im getting an HC.
With a name like that, how can you NOT get the four Pioneers?

I've actually heard some good reviews of the Pioneers...

Normally, I'd be more of a single 15" guy...

But you know, I mean.. that name... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well i have 4 12" Pioneers, but im selling them to my buddy, he hasn't paid me yet so im second guessing lol, but im just gonna get the 15" HC, less box space and prolly louder..

the 15HC would be good, or u can wait and get a 15A series

i refuse to belive that 4 pioneer subs (say 300rms each) would be near as loud as a 15" hc...that takes 1200watts rms...THE AREA OF A SPEAKER HAS PRACTCILLY NO INFLUENCE ON HOW LOUD IT IS...to compress more air (because of more surface area) does not mean the same thing as to compress air to a certain spl...this is a fact of physics...however i know there are many technicalities when you place speakers.subs inside of an enclosed space, and the volume of air within that space...moving more in that sense can affect "volume"
