Sub problems

Just got my two 10" NVX subs in. One was used from a person here, scoped out fine, and a brand new one from Sonic. Got them hooked up, the new one is banging. The used one is barely moving. Well shit. Guess I will order another new one.

Thats the weird thing. It reads 4ohm a voice coil. Hell at the amp I'm reading 1ohm. Oh well, just ordered another one 2 minutes ago.

Just pulled it out. One voice coil as soon as you move it it jumps to 30ohms. The other jumps to 11ohms. Not sure what they should read during movement

The resistance is constantly changing while the coil is in motion... Are you sure your wiring was all tight an none of the wires fell off while installing? As he stated take a good look at your leads

Wiring was all good. I even pulled the sub out, checked the connections and reinstalled it. And again the new sub was MOVING, the used one barely moved. Actually looked like the new one was using it as a passive radiator.

They each have their own airspace, sharing a port.

They are wired in parallel. Plus when you go back to the subs, you can hear the new one, the used one hardly has any sound

Well, redoing all the wire in the enclosure....Just soldered 8 gauge wire to the inner terminal. That will go to two distribution blocks. One for positive and one for negative.

Got all the wiring inside the enclosure done today with all 8gauge. Even did the POP test just for you @Massive spl ;


Didn't get it back in today cause my back gave out. ***** being old with a bad back.
