Sub output help

Hey, Im pretty knew here but i have been just readin for a while and this site seems really cool. Anyways, I have 2 15 inch kicker L7's in ported boxs. A freind of mine hooked up a what he called "sub out put" device so that only bass would be playing through my subs and i can controll the amount of bass the subs produce with this device. Well here is were my probelm comes in. In order to hook this up he cut the speaker wires to one of my 6x9's and hooked it to them. So now im stuck with only one 6x9 working. Does any body know why he did this and how i can fix it? Help would be much appreciated( i would go ask him but hes never home).

this device is bullsh*t....if you have 2 15s you should have an amp with a low-pass crossover and frequency ajustments, so you dont need any crap like that......tell your friend to learn his sh*t!

what the hell?i have never heard of this, why did he go that, what was is he trying to accomplish?what was wrong in the first place?you need to go slap that guy, take that wire out of there and stick it back to the speaker.
