Sub options to replace JL w6

Hi all, this post is here because Im unable to find exactly what im asking for in the forums.

I currently have 2 jl 12w6v2's in a jl spec'd sealed box in the back of my charger with about 5-600 watts going to each off of seperate amps. I have recently blown one of them and am thinking about switching them out.

While I do love the SQ I get from these, the SPL leaves me desiring more. I mostly listen to Rock/metal with some rap mixed in from time to time. So what im looking for is something that hits harder. There are too many brands/models out there and its been a long time since Ive been in the market.

I see alot of talk about IDmax, sundown and RE lately.

Please give me some suggestions. I dont mind going to 10's instead of 12's as long as the SPL wont suffer. I want the drums to punch the back of my head!

Things to consider:

2 subs 12" or 10"s.

I want to keep some space in my trunk IE no 3+ cubic foot boxes

Im buying a new amp. MTX's 1501d (I can get one cheap) So each sub will get aprox 750W.

I listen to mostly rock but need the boom if i want it.

Dont give me an over priced sub like JL lol. I know there's comparable stuff for cheaper, but price isn't really an issue...
