sub options for a very small enclosure

i have a Nissan 350z and have a box that fits under the rear strut bar. The hatch area is already very tiny so this is the box i chose to design so i could at least throw my gym bag in there. The enclosure comes out to be .85 cu. ft. internally without drivers. I wanted to run 2 10" woofers off of a 1000 rms amp. I originally had 2 10" Mtx 8000 off of 1000 watts rms and it slammed pretty good for a tiny enclosure. I was wondering if you could throw some 10" subs out there that will still pound in that given small enclosure. thanks!

Is that .85 cubes for both subs, or each? Sealed?

For that kind of space requirements, stuff a pound of polyfill in it, and a pair of Dayton 10" HO's. That, or a few single 12's I can think of would work well. Are you against ports of any kind? A single HO 10 ported would work REAL nice in that space.

that is .85 cu. ft for the whole enclosure. If you;ve seen a 350z, u would understand. here is a link of exactly how i biult my box using a friend that has the same box in his 350z:

it needs to be 10s or a 10. just need some opiniond on a woofer that will perform in that little spacec given 1000 watts rms.

1 10" IDQ...turn that gain down a bit.

edit: it should be plenty loud in that hatchback. the sound quality is never a bad thing either.

dude hahaha i have a 07 too and i have been searching for awhile. go to my350z.com and look at some of the fiberglass box tutorials and you can fit a nice size 12 in there. Ive been thinking of maybe doing a single 10 from one of those prefab enclosures as well but am really set on the 12.

I dont want to take the spare out, otherwise id do a ported 12. Ive been leaning towards the IDmax v3.

yes it does. i have a single ten HO in .7net ported to 30hz. gets pretty loud and low and has excellent SQ while doing it.

Fi SSD 10 on 1kw may be a good bit of output in that small box.

Ill second the IDQs, an add lil less than a pound of polyfill. Might not be the loudest but in a small *** car like that it'll get plenty loud. An on top youll have some nice an tight sq

Depends on what 10s your comparing and your comparing a sealed box vs ported. Is the box already made an whatnot for the 2 10s?

I found a Ebay box for two 12's. The ad specifies it can be made for 1 12 and it would have 2.2cf. i was going to cut out some holes and have aero ports going right underneath the strut bar for a ported enclosure. If your still keen on the two 10's i was going to get the IDmax V.3. ive been hearing good things about them...

yea looks like i might have to try the IDQ's out. Yea it needs to be that box b/c idont want the added weight of that 12" box and i kinda want the space.
