Sub not hitting right notes

Ok im trying to narrow down my problems because my sub isnt hitting like i thought it would. The XXX that i have is running on a kicker zx1500.1 and it hits the lows pretty fine but as it goes higher it goes wacky. One second it'll hit then fade then come back and so forth on certain songs. Now could it be my box? I think it may be too small, box is 2.0 cf @32 hz ported. If that is too small then what would be recommended for a 05 XXX? If not the box, anyone else may know what is going on? Sucks to have the sub bump for certain songs only.

most likely your box..my sx did the same thing..would hit lows really well but no upper bass notes..got a t-line built and now sub sounds amazing...and i was running 4 cu ft..i cant imagine 2..****

Internal air volume does matter in a t-line enclosure. If it wasn't designed with that in mind, it wasn't designed correctly.

a t line enclosure is all port, some with a chamber...... when i was getting the box built by a very reputable person i asked the question.."What will the internal dimensions in cu ft be?" and i was told it doesnt matter....i guess the design of course will be determined by the length of the port and tuning freq. All i know is my enclosure is incredible and no i dont build boxes but i was just relaying the message that i assumed was correct by the person who told me it..

lpf is to high, 80 hz and lower is good.
