check your ground wire to be sure it has a good tight connection, the metal should be shiny clean.

How do I check to see if the sub is blown? Could my ground not being very good be the problem?

Your ground COULD be the problem but almost anything could be the problem. Just recheck everything and fix anything that is nig rigged.

check all wiring. Then check coils with a dmm. As said dont use bb, set gains properly with a dmm, dont just say eh 3/4 should do it.
