My sub isnt as loud as it used to be before i made the amp rack that spans my back seat. After looking around in my trunk it is almost completly sealed off from the cabin. The rear deck has the stock speakers still in it and there are no other holes in it. the amp rack is made of 3/4 mdf. what I am wondering is if I take out the stock speakers will the sub get louder? here is a pic of my trunk right now.

You could probably cut a hole on the left side of your amp rack and recarpet it. It would still look nice, and would let even more bass through.

might be hearing loss (because i am old) but it happened when I changed deck, amp and made the rack. The sub is still getting 56 volts to it with a dmm. when I pull down the back seats its a lot louder. Maybe its because the sub blends so well with the dyns it disappears?

well if you want it louder again, you're going to have to lose the amp rack

Anyhow, YES.....you will get alot more bass by removing your rear speakers. If you dont use them, its a no brainer. I would take them out.
