Sub mount problem

OK, so I finished building my sub box to go under my back seat drivers side of my 98 extended cab full size GMC. it is a single 10 ed e10k in a downfiring setup. With the sub mounted and the box in place the foam surround is actually resting on the carpet about half way around cause there's a **** hump in the floor. Is my sub going to work this way? will I damage it if i even try it? how the hell does a guy fit a single 10 under the rear seat without losing foot room? help!!

ive never understood why people like down fires, i prefer to mine facing the rear of my seat(i have a 97 chevy excab) anyways check your measure menets again or go look at some prefab downfires.
