Sub issue

I have 2 eD 13ov subs in a sealed box. They have performed fine for the past 8 months I have had them. The other day one of the subs started sounding like it had no control of the woofer. On inspection the rubber surround was flexing a great deal while the other was normal I removed it to verify nothing looked wrong and that no wires had come loose. Both of the vc's show 3.7ohm on my dmm, they are dual 4 ohm subs.

So I need your opinions as to what is going on with this sub.

Maybe the suspension and the spider are starting to loosen up. Too much possibly? Power rating? Poke at the surround where it meets the basket, see if any of the glue isn't holding, etc etc, just look around. Having your box tuned too high would do this.. Umm.. Your sub finally breaking in, and your box tuning changed. Etc?

Some reason my mind is going to the spider...

If they've been in a car for 8 months, the odds of them JUST breaking in is so incredibly low unless the guy rarely drove his car at all.

their broken in well they are rated to 1000 each, i'm throwing each about 900. o they are in a sealed box.

People sometimes run their setup with MINIMAL amount of rating in box, I swear, I've seen the stupidest logic behind some of these setups. -.- 200W comp set on 2 L7 15"s. Reason: Didn't want to push them too hard. Meh.

Spider still comes to mind.

Also, not to bash you or anything skot, but for some reason in the last couple of days, most of the posts I've seen from you have been rather offensive.

i checked the spiders last night and they look ok. i did notice the rubber surround feels softer/less stiff than the other sub.

sub is rated 1000 rms, amp gains were set with dmm.
