Time alignment

My tweeter and mid will be in different locations on the door. Do I have to "bi" amp each individual speaker or is there a way to be able to delay the 2 different ranges of frequencies using the same rcas. It would make sense to me that a single rca could carry that kind of single but I don't know of a unit that would do this. I know this question is confusing, but it would keep me from running an extra set of wires (I think).

you can delay each speaker independantly but yould have to have the tweets on the front 2 channels, the mids on the rear 2 channels

so yould have to either use the decks power, 2 amps or a 4 channel amp

i ran my comps active like that but felt it wasnt worth it, so im using a 2 channel amp. it sounds nice to me, thats all i care about

as long as it sounds nice to you, to hell with potential!

If you were going active (which you should be doing if you have a 9887) I would suggest doing T/A with the tweeters then the mids seperatly. Make sure you gain match first.
This is what I plan to do.

I will be using a 4 channel or (2) 2 channels depending.

Lol. Some people don't strive to make the best out of their system.

Bang, what other kind of device can be used for time alignment?

Reason I ask is if I have tweeters, mids, and midbasses, that is all of my 6 channels right there. But I still need to add a sub.

I was just going to use the alpine 9887, but what are other ways of doing time alignment?
Imprint? If so, the time allignment will be set along the entire spectrum and will be set seperately for each position in the channel. IOW, its the only way to get seperate time allignment on the same channel, because Audyssey sets it different points from low to high, rather than by channel.

Why should, he? Who says he should be just because he has a 9887?

Can't move forward until I know how you plan on tuning.

Tweeters hardly benefit from having seperate time allignment. The soundwaves are a bit short for time allignment to affect them and phase can almost suffice.

If you plan on running a 3-way + sub, are you planning on running them passive? Why? Why so many? Ever thought of a center? Why so many drivers and you don't want to run RCA's...how, I guess, is what I'm asking.

Imprint can process a 3-way, passive, off of one channel, I guess, so its very possible. If you plan on putting that load on Imprint, you need to strongly consider installation. It should be spot on.

Well I'm still learning, but I'm not 100% sure if I will run a separate mid bass yet. I'm just trying to see what my options are. I'll make my decision based off of what I can afford. As of right now, I'm not worried about center stage. I'm not going to be competing, this is for personal enjoyment only.

I was planning on running 1 set rcas for tweets, another set for components, and then a set for the sub.

I wish I could do time alignment on different frequencies in the same channel. That would save me some headache.

you can...well, audyssey can. again, tweeters don't benefit much from time allignment.

Who else would you want center stage for? competing...around here is for DB, I think, and they don't really concern themselves with staging, doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.

When you say a set for tweeters and another set for components, you realize that the components will have tweeters, right? OK.
