just bought a boston spg555 sub, dont have a car to put it in yet so im starting to second guess it, weather i want to return it for a 12 or 10" w6v2. im looking for something thats good for sql but can be cranked up for when i wanna be annoying at red lights. the boston hit hard when i tested in my old car but not sure if sq is there, any other suggestions? (small enough for an 2007 sti trunk, and run on a polk audio 1200.1 amp 800w@2ohm 600@4ohm)

fi q is one of the most amazing sounding subs i have ever heard. dc level sounds great but but not as good as the q

if u really want true sq wih output

DIYCable.com : Intro

this is ur best bet, sub with passive radiator combo, the shiva is bar none one of the best sounding subs out there using the xbl motor

DIYCable.com : Intro

unless u want to pay the money for an audiopulse/tc sounds or even more for a critical mass sub

mcleirco83: so fi vs dc fi wins?? i like those two the most...and the specs on the DC lv4 say D 2ohm, what does dual 2 ohm mean??

fyerbyrd22: how would those 2 10's sound if i wanted to be obnoxious at times? and have like a youtube vid of em or anything id like to see em in action

they get loud...they are brand new tho..bought them brand new and put them ina box i had for my cvx and the sq was amazing...the spl was real good as well, but they are brand new, not even loosened up yet and they got real low...but, being they arent even loose yet, i can imagine once they are broken in...i only had them running for MAYBE 30 min before i took them out...i was told however, that my box was too big for them...for inexpensive 10's, they sound real good

dc level 4 will have more output, the q will have more sq, the q also if ur going sealed as u can have it optimized for sealed. i would also get the extra spiders etc on the q, all the upgrades 2 make it a beast

im selling them so i can get a new amp...i can get WAY more for the sonances than my used cvx's so ima jus pound the shit outta my cvx's until they blow

get the dual 2 ohm and run it at 1 ohm, your amp gives off 1200rms at 1ohm, the q will handle all of that easily with the bp option and extra spiders.

Cooling: The 2010 Q now features a solid pole piece that allows the addition of the Helicool cooling system that will allow an additional 200-500 watts of power handling depending upon install and scenario. Bottom line this option increases thermal power handling capacity over a “Stock” Q.

P Chamfer: This is a chamfer on the end of the pole, it helps to bring the air down around inside of the motor and helps cool the coil better. It also helps relieve the pressure underneath the dustcap. Please note if you select “Cooling” this option is included in the cooling package.

High QTS: This option is for users who intend on using the new Q series woofers in only a sealed enclosure.

Spider: This option adds an additional spider to the spider pack to help with mechanical power handling and keeping the moving assembly under control.

i would get all of these except high qts, unless your putting it in a sealed box.
