Sub for a Newbie

Alpha Electronics- Computers, Electronics Sales & Service
I really like that sub. You guys really gave me a lot of new brands ive never heard of before. Do you think a 10in sub like that would be sufficient enough in my jetta or should i go up to a 12in? I mainly listen to rap and dubstep. Also, Do all those companies make good amps and if not what brand names are good amps? Thanks so much for all your help guys!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Very good choice. 10" sub will want 1-2 cubic feet, 12" sub will want 2-3 cube. Larger sub will give more output, tradeoff is cost is higher and they need larger box to function properly.

Would the ssa dcon be better then the tc sounds sub i posted earlier? As far as things i have done is a pioneer face and 4 pioneer 6.5in speakers. For the trunk id say about 38inx20inx15in
Dcon would not be better in any way.

personally i think the dcon would be better, but i honestly dont know about tc sounds, i heard they get loud but i think the dcon would have better sq. do you have aftermarket speakers?
I wish we still had the groan function on this forum....

For that tc sub with at 10in how big of a box do i want to get? Im wanting a ported box
Pick a size and model. There's a zillion threads about these if you search around online. TC-1000/Epic (AKA Audiopulse epic) has been popular for a while so you should have no trouble finding reviews and reports on box sizes.

There's plenty of reliable amps 500-1000W range out there. What kind of money are you looking to spend?

around 200 for an amp... im just kinda scared to buy used, you never know what your getting

As long as its from a good seller you should be pretty safe... Like I said I have a mono and matching 4 channel that are still BNIB if you want to amp your speakers as well...
Which mono amp is it and how much you looking to get for it?
