sub decision.

I've got my two MTX 8000 subs that I havn't been too pleased with for a while. They're in 4.5 cubes ported at 30Hz but they seem to be lacking on the low end and not all that loud for 2 12" subs. I'm not especially looking for loud, but they should be able to put out more than they do.

Anyways, come november I'm gonna upgrade most likely. I've narrowed it down to two subs: alpine type R 15" in a 3 cube ported box at 28Hz or Fi.Q 12" in 2 cubes at 28hz.

if i get the alpine, should i get DVC 2 ohm or 4 ohm. they're 750w rms subs and my amp will put out 900 at 2 ohms or 1200 at 1 ohm. i hear the R's can take a serious everday beating, but will 1200w to a 750w sub be too much?

As for the Fi.Q 12", I really like the look, the company (talked to the owner, former owner of RE), and I've seen reviews and videos of other Fi subs but not the Q yet. So I'm not sure how it'll perform. Anyone have a Fi.Q performance review? I'm leaning more towards the Q cuz it handles 1000w daily, the box would be smaller, its not as popular, its actually an SQ sub (my real goal, but I want a little loudness at times), and its just a 12"

i know the R's get really good SPL ratings in large ported boxes with more power than they were made for, but I'm looking for SQ that has the potential to be somewhat loud.

and help is much thanked

Stereo Integrity BM 12 ? http://www.low-hz.com

I'm in need fr a sub too and also leaning towards the Q12 or 15. Thing is just too sexy. and for less than 300 shipped, can't beat it. I just wish people who have it had a review.

the only Fi reviews I've seen have been for the BTL or the SSD. no reviews yet for the Q that I've found

I'm heavily leaning towards the Q now, possibly even the 15". the guy who taught me everything I know about car audio so far is ditching his RE HC 15" for a Q 15" or 18". with him going that direction and you guys saying the Q, I'm pretty much getting it now.

the stereo integrity BM 12 is only 600w and dual 4 ohm. my amp would be giving it 900w at 2 ohms, a bit much don't you think?
