Hey I'm in a jam right now I got 2 Earthquake Magma 12" subs powered buy a Memphis 1000d ad I’m looking for something louder. I just bought an ED nine.1 to power the new sub but I can't decide which one I want. The 2 subs it has come down to is the SI 15" magnum d2 or the RE SX 15" I heard great reviews on both I’m just looking for which one will have better spl, get louder and lower. Any personal experiences with both would be greatly appreciated.

i got experience with both...but i never ran a single sx in a ported box like i am my mag...sq goes to the SI, and spl as well IMO. this new 15" is really something. either way youll be happy, i liked both of em, but if you can afford it (considering the sx isnt so cheap anymore) the build quality is def. better on the mag. peace

I'm not really worried about the price of the sub, I just don't wanna spend that much and punch my self in the head thats why I asked if anybody had both. Could the SI handle 2 memphis 1000d amps strapped to it?

The rms for the 15mag is 950, so, why not use just one amp?

I'm sure it can take 2000w, but you'd prolly clip the hell out of it.

WHy not just use the nine.1 for the mag?

i have both as well, SQ as said before to the mag hands down, SPL wise though IMO theres not much diff in them. The Mag is a clearer sounding sub though so it will sound louder. Also, the MAG seems to be able to keep up a little better with fast drum type music.

But IMHO it really is hardly a comparison, SI MAG FTW in this case. Don't send it more than 1200

i have a mag in my closet, probably not a good opinion form me though as mines a claw basket mag

I have a memphis 1000d and was in the process of purchasing the ed amp im not sure if I should now because my amp puts down 1000 watts and the ed puts down 1200 watts. Thats why I was gonna just strap another 1000d but your right its way to over kill do you think the nine.1 is worth the money for another 200 watts?

Comparing a claw TC9 mag to the new mag is like comparing an Rl-P to the new Mag. If the SPL is that close between the two I will guarontee you the new Mag will be louder than the SX.

ive heard the new mags i just dont own one so i answered mannys question. The new mag i heard wasnt a "good install" so i wouldnt put that against a SX either, so thats why i said my opnion on the 2 wouldnt be the greatest.

I understand. I am just saying, if the old mag is truely a good comparison for the SX the new mag will own the SX in all aspets. Makes me like this one sitting next to me even more.
