Sub cutting out at higher volume

Set up:

1 10" Alpine type-r (2 ohm i think)

Pioneer 760W 4 channel amp

Clarion NZ500 head unit

Kicker interior speakers

For the past couple months when I would turn my stereo volume over 30 (out of 40) the sub would cut out for a second, then come back on a few seconds later and it does this repeatedly. I used to have 2 10" type-r's in the trunk and they never cut out but now with one it cuts out.

Ive checked the ground and all of the connections, no problems there. From reading online I was thinking maybe wire size? Any suggestions to fix the cutting in and out?
