Sub choice help

Heres the story im finaly gettin a car next week //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif And im realy in no rush to put a system in my car so i want to purchase the sub or subs first then the amps wiring and so on and so forth. My boy has two 15" L7's and im not realy feelin em he has em powerd at around 1000watts a peice and they sound alright.

To make a long story short i want a pair of subs that pound and sound good too.And to be louder than his setup, ahaha i know its a bit childish but hes always runnin his mouth and talkin sh*t.

anyone have any suggestions?

2003 Montero sport XLS, and the trunkspace is a pretty good size from what I had seen.

Budget about 500-600 for the subs. And for the amp, less than 350.

HDC315's will fit your budget, pound, and still sound good. Not sure on an amp for that little of a budget as they like power...

Why not spend more like 500 on the amp and 400 on the subs?

To get louder than your friend, you will need to think about your amp primarily. 300 or less for an amp is only gonna get you ~1000w new.

Look around ebay or the forum sale section to get more power, cheaper.

Also remember wiriing is gonna cost you around 100 for a 0 gauge kit off ebay to run that type of sweet power.

Also I'd like to assume the L7's your friend has are ported, so w/e you get make sure you get the box ported to help the output.

if you shop at the right places thats about...

360 for the subs

400 for the amps

760 total

thats less then the total you wanted to spend

His boxes are sealed and theres only like 2 cubes theyre realy small and he bought them at the flea market theyre those slanted single sub boxes and in my opinion are right for his subs as for his amps hes using two sony explod's that say 1300 watts on the amp but I realy dont think hes pushin that much. But yeah if I need too I can save more for an amp
