Sub can't hit lows?

i have an MB Quart rwe-302 12 inch sub 500 watts rms, with a kenwood excelon x20, which gives 520 watts. The sub can't play the low notes, like the ones in the song "bass, i love you". Instead, a popping/clicking noise comes across the component speakers. I have the LPF set to about 75 HZ. Also my box is a 50 dollar truck box from groundshaker, which could be part of the problem.

High pass(hpf) your component speakers...they shouldn't even come close to playing those really low notes in Bass I Love You. 80hz is normal in order to keep unwanted bass coming from your door speakers.

As far as your sub not being able to play the low notes: it takes a good amount of cone area and power to make 10-20hz sound legit. A single 12"er isn't going to make the ~10hz and ~20hz notes in that song wang, never going to happen.

Ah, probably can't if you have a stock radio.

There's practically a million reasons this could be happening. Poor gain settings. Low system voltage. Improper speaker wiring. Bad grounds. Enclosure design. Etc.

A single 12 still isn't going to pump out 10hz with any authority.

problem is probably since this dude is running factory speakers , he probably has a factory deck which more than likely doesnt have a frequency response wide enough to reproduce those notes

Even most cheap CD players have a usable freq response of 20hz-20khz. That's pretty standard. But weak signal strength could lead to one of the gain setting problems I referred to earlier.
