Whats the average break in period for a sub?..and what methods are commonly used?

There isnt one, just a period of time where the spider on the sub loosens up.

most speakers will sound a lil different after a certain amount of time.... but you don't have ot take it easy on them at first or anything.

let it bang! right out the box. just don't get crazy. after a period you should notice an increase in output due to the spider loosening up

The speaker will need to go through a few cycles of the coil heating up and cooling. Babying the sub will not help, but I wouldn't suggest going full tilt early on.

so that means you cant test the gain using the "by-ear" method if you can play it full tilt????
