Is my tinsel lead really broken?

Here is a pic of what I'm seeing:

It should be reading close to 4 Ohms right? I'm just asking because its not a DMM, its a regular old school MM, I wasn't sure if I had to use RXIO or RXIK, I used RXIK. The only difference with RXIO is that everything is 0.5 Ohms more, so it reads 0.5ohms, still nowhere close to 4 ohms.

So this means my tinsel lead is broken right?

I figured out I need the use the RXIO instead, the RXIK seems to read 0 ohms on everything, but when I use the RXIO I get a reading and I can hear a little scratch from the sub or speaker. It reads like 0.3 ohms so I think it still means that the tinsel lead is broken...

Well just get a 9volt battery n put it to the terminals and see if it pops out for each coil..

if you hook up a 9v battery to each coil, the cone should move in or out, depending on which way you hook it up.

A 9v battery is DC current, meaning direct current, so the speaker will only move one way. Lets you make sure everything is working correctly.

With a dual 4 ohm sub wired like that, the multimeter should read 2 ohms.

Eurghhh it worked lol, on both of the voice coils it worked, and when I had them wired together it worked...

This means the sub is fine?

hook it up to something and see if you can get sound out of it.. Anything will do, but dont show anything in home audio a 2 ohm load for too long. You passed the battery test, now try sound //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Won't it damage the sub? I don't want to be sending the full hertz range to a sub? Isn't that why our amps have crossovers on them?
