I think the best we got is to call crutchfield and they should take care of it. But we don't even know if he bought it from there or used. He didn't give us much.

I'm guessing a faulty unit and to exchange it for another (assuming you bought it from Crutchfield) or that you have a bad signal coming in from the RCA's, either from the RCA wires to be at fault themselves or they are getting a bad signal out of your headunit.

If you are still around op, explain more what you are hearing. How quiet we talking? Maybe you expect more than was reasonable. but they way you typed it, it seems this may not be the case. Give more info.

My guess it is that 10,000 farad cap you are using. Replace it with three 15,000 farad caps.

Your homies down the road won't be able to show you what's truly up with their 10 CVR-12s in that 4^cube box, after you get those three caps that is.

OP- are you running the rca's from a headunit or a line out converter/ high-low converter? i had an issue with a past install using the converter on a preloaded sub similar to yours..

It is either a Bandpass box or a self powered box.
