Sub/Amp Matching Advice

single sub? DVC? If you are only running one sub with dual 4 ohm voicecoils that is going to show the amp a 2 ohm load, the prime 750 puts out 500 watts at 2 ohms. May be better to look at the Prime 1200.1, that will give you 800 watts at 2 ohms. The prime amps are nice, I have had a prime 6004d in my car for 2 years with no issues.

Or to save yourself some money you could look at the Precision Power P1000.1. https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_38335_Precision-Power-PPI-P1000.1.html

Nice little amp, inexpensive and puts out decent power. Here is a dyno video that Sonic did.

You don't listen well do you.
When I initially read your comment I got a bit confused about "Dual 4" i understand now though. I just thought I needed to run a 750 RMS sub at at least 75-150%. The Zapco puts out 350. Wouldn't I be better suited with a stronger one for a 750 RMS speaker. I am listening just tryin to get it right before I invest hundreds of dollars.

Hey I'll be going with IDQs Dual 2 OHM speakers so I should be able to wire the prime 750 on a 1 ohm load to deliver that. Thanks for the info.

You only need enough power to reach your output goals. RMS is not a must have. Most of us have 2x or more RMS on tap. Don't mean we use it. The difference between 350 and 700 watts is 3db on paper. That's huge when competing. Daily use that's like 1-3 clicks on the volume knob.

Oh. Well when you put it that way it seems very trivial for my uses. What about the stuff I've read about under powering a sub? Isn't that something to worry about? I think Crutchfield had a guide I read that said 75% RMS but IDQ specs says it can accept like 50-750 rms. Kinda conflicting.. I guess I'm just really worried about damaging this speaker. Is under powering a concern in this case? Thanks a bunch man.

Do your speakers explode every time you turn the volume down? Crutchfeild has some straight retarded articles. I guess it fits their typical shoppers.
Okay good to know this definitely opens up my options on amps available. Gonna do a bit more research, def gonna be looking at the Zapco.

These look nice man!! Unfortunately my budget for a 5 channel or 4/1 channel is about $300-350. =[

If you want the rockford amp, just step up to the prime1200.1 for like $40 more. It makes 800@2ohm if you have the dvc 4ohm sub. It like $240 new at amazon or used for $180 in ****** condition to $215 in like new condition.

Hahaha just went back and seen someone said this already....well some it (the part about the rfp1200.1)

Okay so If I do decide to pair the Zapco ST-5x II with IDQ V4 which are rated at 750 rms. It should be relatively easy to set the gain yes? The amp can't send more than 750 and since Zapco is pretty high quality as long as I'm not a dumb *** and turn the gain to full blast I shouldn't have to worry about clipping/blowing or damaging the speaker yeah?

Good choice and no, at half gain, you shouldn't have to worry about clipping FROM THE AMP. You could however, still have to worry about clipping from HU.
