Squaretrade Warrantys. Should I?

I bought 2 rockford refurb amps off ebay about a month ago. now my deadline to purchase extended warranty's for the amps is coming up.

Should i get warranty from them?

the t5002 is $23.99 for 1 year and $12 more for a second year.

the t10001 is $31.99 and $16 more for a second year.

All their warranty's cover 100% parts and labor and shipping.

so for about $84 im good for 2 years.

Think this is a good idea? anyone dealt with squaretrade for a warranty claim?

yes.

i purchased a soundstream pca200d from ebay and added 3yrs of warrenty with squareT. 3 months after having the amp it shorted or something and started sending out a D/C signal. i called soundstream and they wouldn't claim the factory warrenty since it was not instaled or purchased by an authorized dealer.

square trade went through with my warrenty and refunded me the total cost of the amp. no questions asked. they payed me within 2 weeks too.

cool, the amps are still on the floor behind me, still have not tested them yet.

im thinking if anything went wrong it would cost more than $84 with shipping.

yeah squaretrade is cool. had an alpine 9887 that fried while i was messing with my amps, 8 feet away from the HU... no idea how it happened, but i assume it was my fault. had nasty ground loop and the internal amp stopped working. smelled very strongly of burnt electronics. they refunded my money no questions asked, about 5 days after i shipped it in.

I bought one a few years ago, but never had an incident to arise. They were referred to me by someone else, who said that they had excellent customer service.

yup ST is awesome, got 2year plan on my blackberry with 100% free replacement or can send in to be repaired.
