SQ Sub + some limits

Got Bass?
Hello,

I currently have a CDT Audio S60A 6.5" Component set in the front running off headunit power. I recently purchased a Kicker 650.4 to power the front speakers and I was going to run some rear components off that as well and I'm starting to begin to head towards the sub arena again. I used to have a massive bass system, but sold in order to reduce weight and head towards performance on my car. After being satisfied with my performance, I became addicted to hi's and mid's but I need that little bit of oompf. I need those 30-50hz notes that are barely if heard at all in my car. It's embarrassing when my headphones that i use to keep the noise down in the house at night can hit those notes and my car system cannot. I'm looking for one single 8" or 10" sub, that 1) is SQ oriented 2) can run off the remaining two channels of the 650.4 3) doesn't weigh a ton or need a huge box (the box will be sealed to keep the weight down). Hit me with suggestions. I ask a lot of questions and rely on your guys help, sorry. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif Thanks in advance!

i would have said IDMAX but i dk as of late...maybe 10" Fi Q!!!
I've been looking at those if you want to know the truth. I actually have had a window of that open for about 10 minutes now. One of the best things I loved about my last sub was the deep notes it hit, well and how loud it did it, but I don't want that loudness anymore. Anything else? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Memphis MClass. Throw a pair of 10s in .5 cubes apiece with a bit of polyfill and you're good to go. Had a pair of the 12s in that configuration with about 250w per sub and they did awesome. Very compact and lightweight, plus SQ is very nice and output is very good for such a small driver in such little airspace.

Definitely a good option if you're looking to keep size and weight down. In my install, the box was no more than 6-6.5" deep, and even with the amp mounted to the back, I still fit the whole shebang underneath my rear deck speakers, saving almost all of my trunk space. I'd say maybe around 25lbs for the 2 12s, the amp, and the box.
