SQ Sub Instead of Spare Tire

I'm sure the Focal Utopia are some really sweet sounding subs but they're usually no where close to affordable. Atleast not for this average white slob.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

oh yes....the PRS line is excellent quality

listen to the man...a Steeler fan cant be wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
No complaints here. I've won a few USAC sq shows in my power class with those in my system.

i think ditchin your spare is a stupid idea.... i mean seriously you could be 50 miles away from anybody and the only thing stoppin ya is a lowsy spare tire that u took out for a sub.... one small piece of rubber and a piece of metal missin is keepin you sittin waitin on a wrecker.. oohhh yea i bet if u do get a flat and there's nobody around ya that you will get pissed and mess up the sub u put in place of the spare lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

im sure u can make a box that will shape with your car on one side of the trunk and not lose any trunk space hardly... oh yea and for keeping luggage room... there's gonna be a sub in the middle of your f'in trunk that you cant set stuff on thats gonna take up more room than you think when ur puttin luggage in there

Ahh yes, removing the spare tire. I took mine out do to the nature of my install and the next day I got a flat tire..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tomatoface.gif.6507032fedd1868ec0a6a447bb29a18a.gif Keep the spare if you can, but if not just make sure you have some kinda towing service or your cell phone in hand. I hear good things about Image Dynamics and was thinking about getting one until I heard a w7 and joined the band wagon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif .

Yea I was kinda worried about not having a spare, but I have AAA and cell phone roadside service and I dont really take long trips with my car. As for cargo...i plane on makin some like of plexiglass cut out for the sub to protect it along with MDF around it.

idq
soundstream exact

oz matrix elite

adire koda

hsu research
Will these recommendations work well in a small enclosure like a spare tire well...sorry I dont know how to read parameters and I getting a custom shop to mount the sub.

those subs work well in sealed enclosures....and have excellent SQ

a 10" sub would be your best bet (for limited space)

I owned the OZ ME 10" and 12" and had the pleasure of listening to a couple of IDQ setups and a SS Exact system.......

Don't forget infinity perfect. Especially the VQ series. I just got a 12 VQ, and it is amazing. the 12 can go in a box as small as .6cuft, and the 10 can go in .4 cubes if i remember correctly.

If you had the choice again, which set up would you choose?

Update...

I was thinking either IDQ 12 or ARC 12...any opinions on these for my application. Im kinda thinking they are basically the same subwoofer with a different name. Also a 12 OZ matrix elite is an option.
