SQ errrrr L sub

I have been piecing together my SQ setup and it is down to the sub (well, 85% sq, 15% L).

Idealy I would like a single 15" set up, but am open to others depending on the suggestion. Amp is an underrated 600(ish) @4 ohm, 1080 @ 2ohm, and 2000+ @1 ohm (probably going to run it at 2, but could always back the gains down at 1). Going in a sealed box.

So far I have:

15 Rl-p - Dual 4 works out great

15 Mag - before the boner hits in here, keep in mind it is 2x the price of the Rl-P

IDMAX - no 15 available, but I like the sub (dual 10's or 12's would be more than a mag though)

W6 - would be a 13, but nice sq

Anything else worth tossing in the mix or experience with the above?

you could also run a 15" diamond d6 with 1080 watching the gain. they are comparable to the w6v2, same sq and a bit more spl, doesn't get as loud as the rl-p though.

hmm.. after reading it over, i think the idmax would actually be best for you. since you are only looking for 15 percent spl, the idmax can provide that, and more, and has extremely good SQ.

I was actually conscerned the Rl-p might be too loud. I have been checking out Diamond, but have never heard, or have a way of hearing them that I know of. I was checking out the D9, or is that more SPL oriented?

**cough, $700+ for the pair, cough**

Wish I could hear these as well, but no luck.

Well if you went with a mag how would you run it? 2000rms is overkill, and your only other choice would be to run it at 4 ohms. But 600ish at 4ohms would be just about perfect. Of course it could handle around 1200-1500rms daily without problems, but 600 would still sound great, and get very loud. Basically it comes down to how much you want to spend. Just about everyone would agree that they would take 1 mag over any one of those other subs if price wasn't a factor. So if you have the money for a mag, then you would want to go that route, but if you only want to spend a couple hundred on a sub, then another sub would be a better way to go. It all comes down to your budget:cool:

I am willing to put out the $$$ for the right choice, but want to avoid extra cost if I can. For example, it a Diamond sub or Rl-p off 1K, be equal to a Mag off 600, then I would save the cash and go with the previous. On the other hand, if the IDMAX would be worth the extra $200 or so, I will find a way to swing that. I hope that made sense.

i'm sure excelerater will chime in and tell you about the D9. but the d6 is awesome. i'm running 2 12's and the sq is great and the spl is just how i want it to be, not too loud, not too soft. i'm sure you can get the rl-p and adjust the bass level to your liking, it doesnt always have to wang.
