Speaker Terminal Power loss?

I was calling around to see where i can find speaker terminals (locally) and under radioshacks price of 4.95 ea, and i talked to a car audio shop who doesn't use terminals.

I'm wiring 2 eD 13O 12" subs w/ a mono amp

Wiring to a 1ohm load.

Does a break in the wire actually cause power loss?

What's the easiest way to not even use them? Drill a hole, feed wire, caulk/silicone around the wires?

That's ghetto..

Theoretically [At least in my mind] a break in the wire shouldn't/wouldn't cause power loss unless the break inbetween is vastly smaller than the wire proceeding it.

I think in most cases, there won't even be a noticable difference in "power loss" to even be worried... maybe the equivalent to 1 watt. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Thanks for the response.

I've been trying to think of different possible ways that could happen as well, but if all the bigger audio installs have terminals, how would it cause this noticable loss..
