Speaker Suggestion: 07 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab

Hello everyone! I am completely new to the forums here so please forgive me if I am doing this wrong.

I am wanting to get some suggestions on a speaker setup for my 07 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab. I really focus on bang for the buck so whatever is moderately priced but is of good quality is what I am after. I would think that everyone is of the same mind. I have a budget of $1000, anything much over that will break the bank.

Best I can gather from looking around is:

Front - 6X9 Thinking component here. Might be a spot to mount the tweeters into the dash near the windshield?

Rear - 5 1/4" Coxial

Under Back Seat - 12"

As far as RMS I was trying to go with 75 on the doors and >300 on the sub. As you can gather I am completely open to suggestions. I have some allegiance to Alpine as I had a set in another truck and loved them. I also had an Infinity sub that I loved as well. There again however, I am not picky.

Sub amp - AQ750 Amplifier (on sale for $180)

Front speakers - HERTZ ESK165 6.5" 200W COMPONENT SPEAKER 2WAY PAIR *NEW | eBay

Rear speakers - Hertz Hi-Energy HCX 165 2-Way 6.5" Car Speaker | eBay (offer $200 shipped he will take it)

Front & Rear amp - MB Quart ONX4.80 480W RMS, ONYX Series 4-Channel Amp | eBay

Just buy adapters for the 6.5's and they will fit right in your stock location. Adapters can be had online for under $10. Another option is to leave you rear stock and just power them off the HU and use the extra money to buy wires and what not. With a good front stage rear fill is not really needed.

rockford p1694 (6x9) 4-ways = $60

rockford r152-s (5.25)3-ways = $41

rockford p400.4 = $169 for the high/mid amp " no crossover required " the one's on the amp adjust for channels 1+2 /3+4 because each speaker has its own channel.

rockford ( p1000.2) = $250-$299 for the sub(s) has to be two channel the class D mono blocks are way more expensive!!

Jl audio 12'' w1v2 for the subwoofer(s) = $99-199 and those will fit in a custom Ram Quad cab box that goes under your backseat. you mostly find those boxes at car audio places than online. this is a hard hitting good sounding system that i've hooked up before (Dodge Ram) and the customer loved it and so did I .

P.S send that extra $200 you saved to me.... jk good luck

^^ or use that extra $200 to buy quality equipment.. Not saying whats listed above is garbage but its far from anything great. Only good box is a custom box not a pre-fab POS.

Be careful of the rear door mounting depth. The rear doors need shallow speakers.

Disturbed, I have never heard of the speakers that you suggested. Mind you I am not a complete car audio enthusiast; more of a computer person myself. I will check into them. The prices fit right in line with what I had in mind though. I will have to do some research. Looks impressive though and the subs all seem to fit in the box that I have with a mount depth of 6 1/2".

Outya, I like your suggestions purely on the fact that I have heard of Rocksford before. Not that I have heard a set mind you. On a bad note I just got burned by a local car audio shop because I had the money and didn't want to install myself like I have in the past. Low and behold I overpaid and got screwed on equipment... lesson learned. Not to mention that is a lot of money to sink into the sub portion of the system.

I really want something that sounds good. I listen to plethora of music genres and want to be able to hear all of the nuances of the music. I will have to do some reading and looking for reviews. I am one of those people that has to know. Thanks for the suggestions.
