speaker placement in a box

Can i place the speaker here instead of on the left side? Will it make a difference in sound or spl?

Yes, it might/ might not be louder.

Sorry to ressurect an old thread, but I was looking at this, and cannot see a picture from the first post.

I am in the prcoess of building a ported box and was wondering if it matters where I make the sub cutout on the front baffle? Close to the port, center, or away from port...
