speaker magnet question... lend me your thoughts please.

in my spare room ive got a bunch of crap piled up that ive hoarded over the years - not too much good but mostly medium grade crap ya kno ?

the other day i noticed that one of my old rex8" subs had attracted a couple of screw drivers on it i have no idea how long they have been there - but it could of been up to about 8 months at the most - and when i pulled them off , they were magnatized. cool for magnetized screwdrivers - but in the process of that happening - did my litle rex8" subwoofer give off some of its magnet streingth ?

is it noticable ? or measurable

or over time - if a speaker is stored improperly - allowing metal to come in to contact with it - will some of the magnet streingth eventually wear off enough to cause the speaker to not be as powerfull as it once was when it had full magnet streingth ?

lend me your thoughts on this... actual / theoretical / and hypothetical are all welcome

I had similar thoughts a while ago. I was wondering if after a few years, they lost some strength no matter what. I saw a video of Jacob magnetizing the team Sundown motor. I wonder how much it would cost to get a sub re-magnetized..
