Speaker hiss and poping

Hello, New to this board, hope to find some help.

I just finished installing a new system. Have a Pioneer DVH-P5000MP

CDT 5.25 coaxials run off the factory speaker wiring

CDT 5.25 HD braxials run off of a U.S. Acoustics 2100 amp.

The noise i hear is only in the front speakers, and goes away if I power them with the factory wiring. There is a hissing/whirring noise (can't describe it well) that I can hear at low volumes, it seems to be the same volume regardless of the HU volume unless I turn the volume to 0. Then it gets drowned out as the volume goes up. The pop I get if I turn the volume from 0 to any level. Also, when switching sources.

I took out the HU and disconnected the antenna, tried re-routing the power, ground, RCA's, and speaker wires with no luck. I tried a spare amp I had lying around which worked perfect before I took it out and still have the noises.

I tried adjusting everything on the amp, I can get it to go away with the gain way down, but it is so low then I can't hear the music.

I'm wondering if maybe the HU is bad.

Thanks for any help.

The front Braxials are connected to the amp. The power for the amp comes off the battery and goes to a distribution block under teh center console of my truck, and then to my amp.

What do you mean by the same ground? The amp is grounded seperately, then speaker wires to the crossovers and speaker wires to the speakers.

I also tried using the high level input's instead of the RCA's and they still have noise.

Someone suggested that the amp and reciever need to be grounded to the same location, but never heard that one before.

Maybe not receiver and amp in the same place, it would help usually, but grounds should never be mroe than 3-4 feet, and it probably would be then. Reground your HU, that will help a lot. Check the ground on your amp and make sure its on bare metal. That should eliminate it.

Well, I just got in from playing w/ it again, and I tried grounding the Headunit and the amp directly to the negative on the battery, and that did not help at all. The ground I had set up was only about 10" long before.

I doubt he's gonna see your question since the last time he logged on was february of last year.
