What kind of car and factory HU?

2001 Chevy Tahoe, and I am getting the Pioneer P6900UB installed tomorrow

its prolly either Bose or the Delco system, doesnt the Bose systems usually come with a factory amp?

What is the reason why I should remove it? Im not implying that is a bad idea, I just have no idea why you would remove it and would like to know for future reference

Because it will probably mess with the SQ of the Pioneer unit.

the link says not to remove the factory amp. So would you suggest to remove the amp? Or just do what the link says

If you remove it, then wiring will have to be run for the speakers. You can bypass it and use a mojority of the existing wiring. Your choice.

Save your money on the HU and put it towards an amp for your front speakers. Totally ghetto to have no amp on the fronts and your subs wanging like that...unless of course you live on Broadway in NE>

haha, its just that, if I add another amp, then I will most likely need to upgrade my electrical, and then that means more money
