Speaker crossover frequency

Hey guys. I recently got some good help on setting up my AMP settings.

I changed my settings on my sub channel from HPF to LPF and made a worlds difference. Its currently set at 80hz on my x-over frequency.

Now, speaker frequency. I was told to change this setting to HPF and also turn it to about 80hz.

It was already on HPF but it was at about 300 hz so I tuned it down to about 80. I havn't got a chance to listen to it changed and I was just wondering what the difference in SQ would be.

Thanks guys

It should be a much smoother, flatter response. Before, your sub wasn't playing anything below 80hz (must've sounded like complete ***). Your speakers weren't playing below 300 hz. That meant your subwoofer was playing 80hz-300hz...how long did you have it like this???

Now your sub will play everything below 80hz, and your speakers will take on 80hz and above. It should sound a lot better.

The subwoofer was set at about 150hz before I adjusted it. Also, i'm not positive my speakers were at 300 but they were **** close. I almost completed a full turn before getting back to 30 hz.

Anyways, I adjusted my sub yesterday and it sounds WAYYY better, cant wait to see how my speakers sound.

thanks for the great answers guys

and incase you were wondering Ive been listening to it like that for the past 4 days or so.
