Hello! I am new to the world of car audio! And I just want to ask if the following setup is wise/works at all without damaging anything! Be kind, as I may have jumped the gun with excitement and bought the wrong peripherals. But wanted to see if you guys think this will be fine to set up or a big no-no.

HU: Already exists in the car (Toyota GT86/FRS/BRZ) Sony XAV-AX1000

___________

Amp 1: Pioneer 1000w GM-A6704 - 4-channel 60 watts RMS x 4

Speakers Front (Doors): Memphis Audio PRX602 Power Reference Series 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers 50 watts RMS (100 watts peak power)

Speakers Rear: Memphis Audio PRX4 Power Reference Series 4" 2-way car speakers 20 watts RMS (40 watts peak power)

____________

Amp 2 (Sub): Pioneer GM-A3702 2-channel car amplifier - 60 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms (95 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms)
190 watts RMS x 1 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)

Subwoofer: Kicker 48TCWRT672 - 2 ohm 150 watts RMS (300 watts peak power)

I've highlighted the power ratings. My worry is that the amps are too powerful for the speakers. I've done some maths (I think) and I could be overpowering my speakers.
Advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks and I hope you're all doing well!

J.

Thanks, Bobbytwonames. Will try that when I get to the build. Would I still be able to balance correctly from the HU when it's powering a pair and the others are connected through RCA?

If I went down the original route; amp power would be fine on these speakers?

Thanks,
J

If you go the other route then just buy a mono (one channel) amp for the sub.

Not too much power.

You could buy very powerful amps and turn the gain down as well. It's way safer to have too much power than not enough. We are all big fans of 'headroom'.

You tried the external relay with no success? If so, how did you wire it?

For the sub/amp combo, you can use one voice coil per channel. So no need to use the jumpers of the sub. As for the co-axials, you can bridge...
