Speaker Advise Please

I Have a 1996 Toyota Corolla and it has basic everything.

I just need help with deciding on a speaker system inside.

I've already chosen a CD disk changer

- I Want All New Speakers Inside - I Think Its 4 In Total.

- I dont want to spend more than 150$$ for just the speakers.

- I want Strong, Loud Sound Quality and a good strong Bass sound.

If you could point me in the right direction or even just advertise a system to me i'd appreciate it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif :)

Thank You

I have essentially the same car ('95 Geo Prizm).

You'll want to ditch the front 4" speakers and make yourself some adapters/baffles to upgrade to either a 5.25" or 6.5" speaker.

Coaxials or components will be up to you with the latter, obviously, generally being more costly.

Your rear 6.5" spots can work fine if you're going to do rear fill of any kind.

If $150 is your top budget right now then I would suggest keeping the stock rears (crap) for now and concentrating on front stage.

For under $100/shipped you could get a set of Phoenix Gold RSd 6.5" components off of eBay and then that would leave you $50 for wiring and such.

They can run off of the headunit but to extract their real capability you'll want to invest in an amp later on down the road.

Well, this holds true for pretty much any aftermarket speaker you could buy, really...

Oh sorry. No Amp..

And i also want 5 Inch Plus Speakers.

im looking at all your links right now thanks for the info.

I have an uncle who is HUGE!!! on this kinda shit. he has 4 15"s in his back seat. 2 amps. equalizers, dynomats the whole 9 yards. He already said if i bought shit then hed wire it for me and do everything for me. soooo the installation and such isnt a problem.

is there anyway i could get the fronts and the rears new or is 150$$ too little.

i dont really just want the fronts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif lol

are you running a amp or just off the deck.

if you can get something other than 4 inchs in the front i would go with some comps 6.5 or something and leave the back alone.
WOW these look really GOOD!

reading reviews on them and they seem to be GREAT

Checked out EBAY and i could get for around 75$

so for 150 i could get all four and then id be set.... i think

I second the PG RSD suggestion. I bought them for my car thanks to suggestions from users on here. I love them. They sound good and clear with anything from southern gospel to death metal to rap, and so on.

Nice bright, crisp tweets and good midbass. I hav about 80 watts to each side RMS. 100-120 would be a little better though.

Kicker KS's sounded a lot like the REV's when I demoed the, but I feld the REV's had more midrange, so that's what I went with. I've never run them off HU power only, so not sure who loud/clean they'll be with such little power.

Look at Profile for a solid budget amp. AP1040 would work nicely and is priced right from millionbuy.com

hi.

i'm new to the car audio scene.

would the ap1040 be enough for all the 4 speakers in my car + a subwoofer or do i need an amp seperatly?

thanks
