as far as ported goes, i dont know, never heard either ported. but i put my buddies pair of 2005 type r's in my 2.6 ft^3 net sealed box, off my nine.1, and frankly the rl-p's OWNED them as far as sq AND spl went. i mean owned. almost to the point of embarassment. ported, who knows?

The RL-P is a great choice. I have a Mag and it barely fits behind my seat.

It amazes me all the shi t talking about sealed type r's. I must be the only one on here that says they sound decent sealed. It owns my buddy's 1 15 ported off his 1500watt amp. But yeah anyway. Most of the people that say they **** sealed are the tcab crew. It just wont sound right unless it is in a tcab box. I think I will take my 200 some dollars and buy a better highs amp, lol!

Well if I have heard 1 15'' Type R ported off of 1500 watts and was not impressed, then I highly doubt I will be impressed if I had mine ported off 1100 watts and in a trunk of a cavalier.

i kno my rlp gets quite loud in 2.2cubes @32hz with my re 35.1, but ive never heard the new type r's. but im sure the rlp would probly have it from like 35hz down. i think someone should test them both in like 2cubes at 35hz with an orion 1200d. and compared the avg spl from 30-50hz, who cares about 50+ anyways

We had the RL-P in a perfectly suitable ported box. It got its *** handed to it by the type-r.

yes u do.skmfr we did that test and like tommy said, rl-p got its *** handed to em. but the rl-p did better on the SQ. not a bad soundin driver.
