Soooo electrical. What battery?? eh eh?

Timmy you do know batteries only store power right? What happens when there is nothing to store because it's all getting used? Your battery bank depletes and keeps depleting. Shorting the life of everything with it.

Lol ... I don't know about your listening habits but most people aren't full tilt the whole time the car is running ... So the batts have time in between to charge .. And like I said three times have a large reserve .. Turn it down at lights .. Don't sit parked slamming .. Be aware .. It's that simple on that power of installs I don't even bother with voltage gauges ... It's a 2k bro there's no need for a alt .. And even arguing it just proves your no installer ..
I'm full tilt all day, and park & pound constantly. Obviously, I turn it down at lights though. All I'm saying is that some people do, and its not worth damaging expensive equipment.

A while back, I tried to run a 3.5k RMS amp on completely stock electrical. Will not ever again...

Obviously it does take a rocket scientist to understand basic electronics. you should go stick a good DMM on the amp terminals see how for it's really dropping. I'm done, you are obviously a pro

A 300 built for abuse and external regulator is a bit different than a 80amp ect stock. And guess what, it was full tilt a lot because it wasn't distorted crap.

And he is close to 3k.. Yes I know rise blah blah.. You want to know the funny thing about efficiency? Once the voltage drops it gets worse, and it will continue to get worse as it keeps dropping more and more. But you are a pro so you should already know that. You've bern around here for a while and I've seen you try many different things over the years.. You are the more money than brains type.

If your full tilt 247 that's ridicouls .. Especially with a loud setup ... Most (normal) people like to be able to think at times lol .. Let alone let the car warm up .. Make a phone call etc... You guys can argue all you want bottom line a alt on 2k done right is not needed .. What this man needs is the big three and a agm ... And then only then if he's still having issues .. Which in telling you I can almost guarantee he won't .. Should he think about dropping that hard earned cash on a high out out alt .. I mean do the math ... The main person arguing is running a 300 amp alt on well over 5k .. So in his logic it's impossible and his electrical is gunna fail ... He's demanding just as much over rated as the op ... So maybe people should think before they try to give advice ... Last I checked that 300 amp don't have fairy dust to charge that many batts ... Right ???? Exactly ... Your alt doesn't need to match your peak drawn amperage ... And until you prove me and the hundreds of setups I've seen wrong then this argument is stupid

Your sig alone contradicts your statements so it's whatevr .. You don't need to be a pro to realize when your wrong
I don't let the car warm up ahead of time, because then the alt is warm and charges at a lower voltage. Obviously after driving around, it gets warm later on.

I don't usually make phone calls while driving. I think measuring voltage drop before buying the alt is a good idea, but I bet it will be necessary. I just don't want to see him ruin new equipment bought with hard-earned cash.

Voltage drop makes me nervous, so I like a beefier electrical system. I'd rather spend cash now so I can demo hard, than try and push it only to end up with a fried system.

The primary purpose of the starter battery is to start the car. With enough alt the battery will only be there for its primary purpose.

But you are a pro so you know this. Lol

I hated my DC subs also. Amp was solid though

Drawing 7k+ on a 320 amp ... That's not over beefed electrical ... Just throwing that out there
Planning on adding another alt and a big battery bank, but yes. Its not really overkill right now.

Just curious, but what do you have for electrical and what's the voltage drop?

Well I literally just got a new truck last week so 0 drop .. Completely stock lmfao ... Talk to me in a few weeks when I decide what im gunna doThe last setup tho was a 200 amp alt .. Big 4 .. 1 pos 1 neg run .. A 34 upfront a single 3100 in the rear .. 2 rear grounds ...

And I was able to run a 4500 and multiple diff 3500s I came upon at .5 no problem .. Then I had the m3 at .375 daily for about 6 months no issues
That's low for daily. What was voltage drop for that?? I'm trying to decide what I need now, haha

That was a old silver m3 too thing was a beast ... And I love dd amps .. So I'm biased and the wrong person to ask that lmfao
I just bought an M4a, and am trying to decide what to do for a battery bank. Again, what were you getting as far as voltage drop with the m3b wired that low?

Video of a guy dropping to 12.9v with two m3b's strapped:

He's got a huge bank of d7500's!
