ok i had two 12" infinity 1230w's subs.SVC.....last years model...one blew and i brought it back to get a new one at circuit city and they only have the new model infinitys ....which are all dual voice coils.... i was running my amp at 2 ohms getting 400 watts to each speaker..... this might be a dumb question but i was wondering what would happen if i got a new model which is dvc and ran it with my other one which is SVC? is that possible?

Under warranty?

Go home, crank up the other one, blow it and take it back to be replaced also. problem solved //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

j/k

I don't think it will work do to the fact that you would basically be using two different types of subs and that leads to trouble.

But I might be wrong.

.......anyone have a definitive answer on this one?

you might actually be able to switch out your old one also, just talk to a store manager and tell him or her what happened, they are usually pretty cool about it...if not, its time for the wall socket...

You could probably short on of the dual voice coils to make it match as well, I know with my Iridium, there were a number of recomended wiring options for an sq setup, and that was one of the possibilities.
