someone please help me design a box!

the box i have right now is about 4 cubes tuned to ~25 Hz.

i didnt build it right, and im not really pleased with my SPL score. not that im really in to SPL, more of SQ, but i would like to at least break 140db.

i have a 15" Diamond Audio D9 powered by a JBL bp600.1 @ 2 ohms = 600 watts.

im going to go with a sealed box when i compete in SQ (got that in the works)

and id like a ported box for when i "try" for SPL

going to use a 6" aeroport

MAX DIMENSIONS are:

height: 18"

depth: 16"

width: 34"

tuned to about 38 Hz

maybe around 3 cubes? idk, just make sure that it will be LOUD! (for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

first off your retarted for tuning it so dam low, second trim some length off that port to get it to around 32hz

I always thought lower tuning = longer port.

I think there used to be a free site that designed boxes (slotted)

go to psp-inc.com and there is a port length calculator although I don't know if box volume is net or gross.

I hit higher than what he is hoping too, tuned lower than he is

he's far from retarded, big low tuned boxes are where its at IMO:naughty: call me retarded if you wish.

the brahmas going in 3cubes@25Hz soon:naughty: should sound awesome. my B-15 was in 5cubes@20Hz for a few months, and it was insane. best sounding/lowest box ive ever had. awesome setup. it god extremely loud too. just because its 20Hz doesnt mean you wont have output

oh yeah, and you should be able to tune it a fair amount higher if you trim some port off, it might be difficult though seeing as the box is already put together

yeah ive been thinking about trimming the port, but if i do that i might as well just build a new box anyways. i like the low tuning, but with no subsonic filter on my amp, my sub ends up bottoming out etc... i figure if i seal it up for SQ i can still harvest some low end, and if i tune 'somewhat' high i can play louder and not worry about bottoming out like i do now.

i like the sound that im getting now with the low tuned box, although some of the upper bass notes (70-80 hz) are a little out of its range

i see what you are saying, but you guys know what you are doing, he doesnt. he just wants to get loud and tuning that low with the little knowledge this man has wont do that. hes only powering it with about 700 watts, he should be doin double that.
