Okay here's the situation. I have a 04 Chevy Malibu Classic. When I open the door, the car turns off the headunit for me..same thing for when I was running the stock headunit. When I do this there's a horrible loud thump noise coming from the sub-woofer (and probably the speakers too). I did some re-searching, but couldn't find my situation....

Because When i turn the headunit off FIRST and then open the door...there is no loud thump noise at all. Can someone explain this and tell me how I can fix it?

EDIT: Also, I just install my Masive EQ in the half din below and the thump noise is now 2x louder. SO that might be a hint or may not be lol. IDK

ya I have the $90 one from Crutchfield for GM cars that lets you retain the door chimes

Also, in the trunk I have a Shuriken bt-20 grounded in the back...and run my amp grounds to that battery. If I had a bad RCAS wouldn't it make the noise when I turned the headunit off? It's only when I open the door and the car turns the headunit off while still playing

Wow..hate to say it,...but ,you may have to start from scratch.Sometimes better.Especially when you open the door, and the HU cuts off? Lol ,sorry man, but thats crazy..I my self would have to yank all out and start over just do to that alone. The amp needs to have its own dedicated ground.

ground the headunit an run some 16 guage from your battery straight to the memory and power on your headunit

pro:its will fix that problem

con: youll have to shut it off manually by power button

It's supose to turn the cdplayer off when I open the door though...thats not the problem, the noise is. I turn the car off, and the headunit still plays until you open the door. So you can sit with the car off and music will play until you open the door or it shuts off after 5 or 10mins. I think all GM cars are like that.
