does my amp need to be wired up to test this? its just sittin on my shelf behind me, dunt wanna wire it up again

tested, got nothing.
Its only when the RCA's are plugged in that it starts to smoke.
will do, thanks for the helpThat makes sense. If your RCA's aren't shorted out, then it's a defect in the amp.When you send it in, put in a note that says amp powers up, but as soon as RCA's are inserted it starts smoking.
