somebody should make a 3 channel amp!

there are no *big* amps like that.
imo somone should make a nice 2000x1 + 150x6 amp. but it will never happen.
i would LOVE to see something like that... i could run my 3 way actives and have my mono all in one chasis //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

perhaps its time i call old jake up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I would love to see a Memphis Bell in 3 channels instead of 5.......They have no plans to change thier line up though....Kickers 3ch amp is a POS and too small

I would have loved for my truck a 1000Wx1 plus a 150Wx2 deal...... give or take

4 channel amps are use like 3 channel in almost every entry system, 2 ch for front stage and 2 ch bridge for subs, you just need a big amp like some kicker there.
many companies have been doing this since the late 90's..... lot's of 4 channal amps have the capability to operate with 2 channals bridge operating with 3 channals.....old new mang, just gotta find amps that are able to do it. i know some older and newer apline v12 series amps have a "tri-way"

we still make a ZX550.3 and ZX700.5, and we used to make a 6 channel amp.
Any plans to make a 3 channel with more power on the stereo channels?

Or how about a 5 channel with more power on the 4 stereo channels and a band-pass filter for running and active system?

Because I gotta be honest, the current 3 and 5 channel amps from Kicker are kinda weak, imo.

Tri way isn't bridging a 4 ch amp down to 3. Tri-way is using 2 ch's to run a pair of speakers with a sub bridged on top of them. Any amp that's stable at 2 ohms stereo is capable of it.

Pretty useless really. For one, you can't get more than 100w or so to the sub, two - you have to incorporate a high level low pass filter. It's rarely worth the hassle.

There's a good reason there aren't many 3 ch amps built.

99% of the 4 channel amps can be run as a 3 ch.

You can even run 4 4 ohm speakers off the front pair and a sub off the bridged pair. Or a pair of subs off the bridged channels if they're DVC 4's.

A quality 100x4 amp would give you 100w to each of the fronts and 400w to the sub channel.

^ exactly, up the power to 200x2 at 4 ohms for the fronts, and 750-1000 at 2 ohms for a sub.
And make it a nice tiny ICE amp, dangit! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
