I know there is a sticky on how to set this up, but it's kinda hard for me to comprehend. Can anyone give me a quick explaination on what each of the dials do on the side of the amplifier? I know what gain and bass boost are, but what is LPF/SSF/Phase?

On my head unit there are equalizer options such as Custom, Super Bass, Powerful, Vocal, and I think one more but I can't remember.. Say I set my gains to be right below 44.7 volts (1000W @ 2ohm) on the Powerful option. If I change the equalizer option to Super Bass, will I get a clipped signal?

Also, whats the best place to check the voltage coming from the battery? What option on the DMM should I use?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Your better off turning you EQ off on the headunit. When I used my EQ on my old headunit, I only adjusted everything on the mids and highs.

i had a pioneer head unit before and it had those eq options, SUPERBASS had the most bass prolly cuz the Q factor was at 40 hz, POWERFUL was at 80 hz, use SUPERBASS if ya want the deep bass, gonna have to reset your gain though but it should make your subs sound deeper. with EQ FLAT you're subs will hardly hit.

LPF is the low pass filter, you set it to cut high frequencies from goin to the sub, usually set it at 80 hz or if you want a lil mid bass out of it set it at 100 hz, hell you could set it at the lowest the amp has it available usually 40 or 50 but youll only get the lows and not the loud kinda thumping bass with impact.

SSF is the subsonic filter, you set that ONLY if you have a ported box, if ya do set it at the lowest frequency on the dial, that way your sub won't bottom out, with a sealed you don't need it, just leave it alone just like the bass boost

dont' even bother with the phase

you could still set the amp gain for 44.7 volts with it on EQ FLAT

what's the max your volume goes on your head unit, 30?

Yes I have a ported box so I would want the SSF at the lowest option. I have a pioneer premier so the volume goes to 60. I usually play with it at 45. Also another function on my head unit is F.I.E. Can you tell me what that is?

thank you for your help

no problem dude

The F.I.E. is the Front Image Enhancer, if you have rear speakers and you engage that then your soundstage moves to the front of the car, if you only have front speakers and a sub then keep it off
