Depends on how clean power is. A sub can take much more clean then clipped

very true. i have 2 ab xfl 12's i run about 1500 to them rms each with over 12 volts constant.

a buddy n the other hand has 2 of these as well running 2200 watts rms to these and they are still pounding so hard and crisp for the last 3 years now.

you can run 1000 watts to a 2000 watt sub at under 12 volts and destroy them

Any sub on Soundsolutionsaudio.com to a good degree. Clean power, clean music and clean signal will allow you to push a lot more.
