So my sub quit playing on me today....

I was listening to some music when all of a sudden my sub cut out. If I push in on the cone a little it will play again for a few minutes and then do the exact same thing. I turned off the truck and lightly pushed in on the cone and didnt hear any scratching. I pulled the sub out, and from what I can tell, the coil isnt burnt and all the solderings are still intact. There arent any tears in the spider from what I can see either.

Amp or output rca on hu. Or possibly a loose wire.

test impedence with a dmm. sounds like a burnt lead under the cap or a bad coil...

Looks like I'll be needing a recone. One side reads 0 and the other fluctuates between 2.8 and 3.4. Its a d2 sub.

Tore it down last night. Just have to clean the basket and come up with the $100 for a drop in recone.

have two E8s that did that. leads broke right under the cap
