I would go with the one that is not audiopoop.Does it really matter how many watts an amp pushes, how clean the signal is etc if the one with the worse specs sounds better?
If you had a choice between two setups, one with more watts better s/n ratio etc, but your other poption hit harder, sounded just as good, would you go with the one with the better specs or the one that sounds better?
This is getting old. I think enough has been said.
you must have the best ears in the world... much better than any RTA. have you ever heard a CLEAN sounding system? no. because you hug ap's sweaty nutzzYeah because obviously specs are more important than how you subs sound in an audible comparison

wutThe AP is louder and sounds just as good on rap music. Yeah it's cheap and might not last as long as the DD, but it is what it is, and puts ot much closer to rated than most people want to admit. / Story
Well I guess I'm in the mood to start some shit lol, but I read so much mis-information I have got to say something.
I think we can all agree that the audiopipe amps, AP series in particular will have a dirty signal at the rated wattage, but they will do rated.
But honestly, most (90% of people out there looking for a sub amp simply wants to hear some loud bass, and probably don't care if the signal is clipped; as long as they have decent subs with the same rating as the amp they should hold up, right (most subs can handle more than the rms rating, even kicker etc, right?)
Now if you want to talk about clean power, if you go conservative with the gains, IMO you should still get 2,000 clean watts out of an AP3K, at a minimum.
So 2,000 clean AP watts............$260
2,000 clean IA watts.................$600
2,000 clean sundown watts........$500
2,000 clean kicker watts............$500
You get the same clean power for half the price, or 1.5 times the dirty power (alot of people dont care as long as they're loud, seriously).
IMO the only way to justify buying one of the other amps is the same reason you buy a pair of rock revial jeans; to impress people and be in style. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
So one day they do rated, and other day they do close to rated, and another day they do rated again? Makes sense.Lord, I didn't say I'm capable of deciphering every parameter with my ears.
This is my point; the AP amps do rated, and the distortion isn't bad. How do I know? Because we all know DD does rated and 1700 DD watts, under roughly the same distortion levels, are not as loud as 2,000 AP watts. Below clipping and at full gains, the AP amp pushes the subs harder.
I don't see why you guys are getting so upset.
I did contribute something intelligent. I pointed out how you have contradicted yourself. One day you say it does rated, and then another you claim close to rated, and then you claim rated again. Will you actually contribute something intelligent to this conversation or continue acting like a nag?
Noticably louder than the 1700 watt DD, so you tell me.I did contribute something intelligent. I pointed out how you have contradicted yourself. One day you say it does rated, and then another you claim close to rated, and then you claim rated again.
So what is it? Does it do rated or close to rated?
