so how overrated are hifonics amps?

the only amp i can find that isn't wayyy to expensive for my 18xxx are hifonics. they have a 1500, 1600, 1800, 2000, 2200. i know that there are new black ones and silver ones, is one better than the other? and i want to have a real 1800ish watts. what should i get?

Bump for an answer because I ordered a HiFonics ZXi 8006, should I be worried?

IMO whether you go w/the 1800, 2000, or 2200, they'll be close enough in actual power that it would be hard to tell which is which. 400w when you're talking about 1800 isn't a big difference.

Agreed. Also i would get the newer black one because it looks NEATO BURRITO!

They are overrated, but are good amps for the price.

I got the one I mentioned above new w/warranty for $300 shipped. Good deal? Is there a good possibility it won't be putting out 200w on the sub channel? Ugh, I may have to buy a mono block later on in life and use this 5 channel for the components.

i have this amp, its works great and it pounded the hell out of my fusion power plant at 2 ohms

@ 2 ohms it puts out 300w. The sub i'm getting is a SVC 4 ohm. Hopefully I like it.

yeah, thats how you set your gains maybe you should learn that before hooking up your amp...
