Skittle's one of a kind box/build

This turned out to be such a sexy finished product man, everytime i look at it i get more and more ideas for my next build.

I'm guessing you dad is either a cabinet maker or some sort of wood worker.

meh not really a fan either. not the best grain matchup and i dont like how there are the lines from where the pieces of wood line up. do you have a jointer? i would have jointed the edges so they fit together better. i like what you did with the amps though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i would have also used veneer

its put together well for the most part but I have to nit pick about how the tops mate up with the rest of the enclosure(right above the flares for the fans). It just looks like you could have made it a little tighter and why not just do it when you've obviously put a lot of time into the rest of the box.looks good though.definitely original

i already answered that actualy. that gap you see is a hinged piece that the amp is mounted to. the only reason the gap is seen in the pic is because the RCA cable is in the way.

i didnt want the box to look uniform. didnt want the grains to all look the same. wanted to see lines from cutting it in strips. i wanted it to look like hard wood floors and not like one slab of wood.

anyways, i did some work on my roof today and wanted to add it.

she's commin down

voting is up on SMD. $250 worth of deadener goes to the winner. help me out guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

honestly one of the nicer builds i've seen. instead of "pieces of wood" to cover the box, try a nice hardwood ply next time. i like the aero's for the amps idea.

not to ask a stupid question but doesent ur amp need more cooling?? did u have or add fans to the amp so they stay nice and cool( i love the look of the wood finish. )
You obviously didn't actually read anything in here. Those 2 smaller aeros on each side are for the amps and they have fans right in there.

To the OP, that's a slick build man, nice job.
